Principles of Transparency regarding the journal Pracheenakairali

Started in 1950. The journal is available only in print edition.

The journal aims to publish scholarly research articles on Manuscriptology Language & Literature, Cultural Studies, Social Science, Indology, Heritage Studies and Art forms in Malayalam language (Special emphasis is ensured for the study of manuscriptology and textual criticism).  The target readership comprises of scholars interested in the above-mentioned fields.
3. Publishing schedule: The journal is published annually 
4. Archiving: All issues from 2018 have already been uploaded in the website in pdf. All issues right from 1950 are being digitalised.
5. The journal is published in print form and the same is uploaded in the website as PDF. The names of printer, publisher, editor and the authors are clearly mentioned. The printer and publisher have the right to publish the digital form also in the website. 
6. Licensing: Information regarding ownership has been included in the journal.
7. Publication ethics and related editorial policies : Each issue includes articles which have not been published before and contains original ideas. Projects or dissertations submitted as part of academic programmes shall be considered for publication. Views expressed in the articles are entirely that of the authors, and the editor and publisher are not responsible for the content. The articles should be written by scrupulously following the research methodology.The name, address, phone number, email id of the author should be sent with the article. The article should be sent in the forms of Malayalam Unicode/Page maker file and pdf to the email and Website. The author will be intimated about the publication details after the peer review. If the review committee recommends any changes, the author is supposed to do the same and resubmit the article. Articles should follow research ethics related to plagiarism. Articles once rejected by the editorial committee need not to be resent. Any complaints regarding this shall be pointed to the HOD. Editors and publishers of Pracheenakairali accept the responsibility of ensuring the integrity of the scholarly literature in the journal. Policies and procedures are formulated for handling such issues when they arise. These issues include plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication, among others. Neither the journal’s policies nor the statements of its editors encourage such misconduct, or knowingly allow such misconduct to take place. In case the journal’s editors or publisher are made aware of any allegation of research misconduct relating to a submitted or published article in the journal, the editor or publisher will follow COPE’s guidance in dealing with the allegations.
8. Peer review: The faculty members of the department act as the Peer Committee and the Head acts as the Peer Committee chairperson. January – December is the duration of each issue. Each issue will be published in the following January.( For example, 2021 January – December issue will be published in 2022 January). The deadline for submission of articles is September 30 in every year. Only after peer- review will the editorial committee take the final decision regarding publication of the article.

9. Edited, printed and published by Oriental Research Institute & Manuscripts Library on behalf of University of Kerala. The Head of the Department of Oriental Research Institute & Manuscripts Library is the chief editor of the journal.
10. All issues can be downloaded in pdf format from the website free of cost.
11. No author fee is charged. 
12. Printing &  publishing of Pracheena Kairali is funded by the University of Kerala.
13. The journal does not contain any advertisements
14.  The publication wing of the University of Kerala is entrusted with executing the sale of the magazine. Author’s Copy will be delivered by post or in person from the ORI & MSS free of cost.
15. The magazine is printed in Malayalam. It has no translation versions in any other language.

Author’s Guidelines: 

Language : Malayalam

1. Title: Provide a concise and specific Title that clearly reflects the content
2. Abstract: Abstract should be upto 300 words long and provide a summary of the article
3. Keywords: supply minimum 8 relevant keywords that describe the content
